A New Season Has Began.

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it spring up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland." Isaiah 43 Vs 18-19.
We are all drawing to the end of a season , whether that has to do with personal season, ministry season, school (Foundation in Community Development or Discipleship Training School). There is a strong sense of finishing something, yet not yet stepping into the new thing, we have all had to make sacrifices to be where we are and some if not all of us have been on a journey of laying things down on the altar and at the foot of the cross. However, let’s not focus on the thing of the past, doing so can get us struck there, we become like widows focusing on the former things and praying from this perspective. It is no wonder then that all we see is desert and wasteland. When we focus on the new thing which is about to spring fort , we should have hope . we need to make the transition from widow to bride. We are the bride of Christ , A bride is loved by her husband , he longs to meet the desires of her heart, to romances her , to dance with her, she is someone he finds it difficult to say “No” to. Do we realize this is God’s way with us. He is making a way in the dry places and creating streams of refreshing in places where there has been nothing. Its time to change the way we relate to God. Its time to pray with Hope. We are His bride and in Him alone we can put our Hope. — Christine Patrick.

Testimony from the First YWAM Durban F.C.D.
For the past 12 weeks I have had the privilege of being a student in YWAM Durban's first Foundations of Community Development School (FCD). It has been and incredible and intense time in which we have covered countless topics as we've received speakers from all around the world. Each one of us walks away with many practical tools and a better understanding of how to see communities transformed in a positive way. As we have studied the Word of God we have come to realize that the key to any true and lasting development must begin within ourselves. It is only when we ourselves have had a personal revelation of the Father heart of God and his incredible love for us that we can lead others into the abundant life that he desires for them. – FCD TEAM

Testimony from the Outreach

Outreach was…life changing. That’s perhaps the best way to say it, but one sentence doesn’t quite do it justice. For the past 2 months I have been part of a team of women that have traveled by bus and by pickup truck all across South Africa and Zimbabwe. Our outreach phase kicked off with a week of working in Ntzuma with Penny Dugan’s AIDS care center. We scrapped windows and painted trim in order to assist in the opening of their new hospice. It was a fun week- and messy! We walked away paint speckled every day, smiles on our tired faces.
Next we boarded a bus and headed into Zimbabwe. During our 3 wks there we drove east and west visiting rural areas and towns, preaching in churches and talking to local school groups. We saw a lot and were used by God to touch many lives. Zimbabwe is an incredible country. We all felt so welcome and were blown away by the peace we felt radiating from that nation.
Following Zimbabwe we headed for Dundee, SA in northern KZN. There we partnered with Melusi, ministering alongside of them in the community and helping out on their grounds: sorting donations, gardening, visiting the sick, and feeding the hungry. We were all very impressed with the well-rounded ministry, and felt so welcomed as a part of their team. Saying good-bye was more difficult then any of us expected. Those two weeks we were there are some that I’m sure I will never forget.
Currently we are on our last week of outreach running a dental clinic in Burlington. Looking back, I am blown away by God’s orchestration seen clearly in the travels and experiences we walked in. We serve a good God; I know that now with a finality I didn’t have before. I am going home a changed person, and I can only turn my eyes upward and thank the Lord for everything He’s done.
